Invitation to Public Hearing – Online Media Guidelines 2.0
The Press Council invites members of the media community, primarily journalists and editors of online media, to submit remarks and suggestions on the proposed amendments to the Guidelines for the Application of the Code of Journalists of Serbia in the online environment in the next month.
You can view the text of the proposal and send comments to: [email protected], no later than November 15, 2021.
Guidelines for the application of the Code of Journalists of Serbia in the online environment were developed by the Press Council in 2016 in order to clarify numerous doubts regarding the application of journalistic standards, defined by the Code of Journalists of Serbia, in the online sphere.
Further development of the Internet and changes in online media, as well as changes in privacy rules in the last five years have necessitated updating the Guidelines and further clarifying the dilemmas of journalists and editors regarding: use of artificial intelligence and embedded content, removal of content, right to oblivion, covert advertising, collection and processing of readers’ personal data…
We invite you to help us make the new guidelines a better and more useful document for all online media.
The drafting of amendments to the Guidelines was co-financed from the budget of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.
