The number of complaints to the Council remained the same
(Source: FoNet) BELGRADE – The Secretary General of the Press Council, Gordana Novakovic, said today that this year there has been no increase in the number of requests from state and local self-government bodies that announce media competitions for information on the measures imposed by this self-regulatory body on the media in the previous year, nor has the number of complaints sent to the Press Council changed significantly.
“There is no significant difference in the number of complaints to the Council, it is within the average. This year, to date, 51 complaints have been received, in 2023 125, in 2022 85, and in 2021 110 complaints,” said Gordana Novaković for the Association of Journalists of Serbia (UNS).
Gordana Novakovic added that in the last few years, the Press Council has received between 70 and 90 requests a year from state bodies, i.e. local self-government bodies that announce competitions for project co-financing of the production of media content.
