Željko Bodrožić: The government criminalizes the Council
(Source:Danas) For almost 15 years of existence, the Press Council has experienced praise and support from the professional community, but also the challenge and criminalization that primarily stems from the current government, which does everything to bring disorder into the field of media, instead of helping the development of the public information system, said today the President of the (Press Council) Managing Board Željko Bodrožić.
At the opening of the regional meeting of self-regulatory media bodies from Southeast Europe, Željko Bodrožić said that the criminalization of the Council mostly comes from those that the government has strengthened and elevated the most in the past 10 years, obscure and destructive tabloids that are also the biggest problem on the media scene in Serbia.
Bodrozic pointed out that tabloids exist all over the world, but that the “mutant” that originated in Serbia is unique and that educational institutions will deal with the period of “tabloid rampage in Serbia”.
