What can we do for you?

The Council has a Complaints Commission, which decides upon the content of your complaints regarding texts, photographs, and other content published in printed media, their websites, web portals, and news agencies. The Commission is here to help you, and its services are free. You will receive a decision no later than 45 days after we receive your complaint.

Contact us if you believe that you have been harmed by media reporting.

WHO HAS THE RIGHT TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT?

  • Any individual, organization, or institution directly affected by the published content in question. If you are filing a complaint on behalf of someone else, you must provide written consent from that person.
  • A complaint on behalf of a minor child may be submitted by the child’s parents or guardians, or by a third party with written consent from the parent or guardian.
  • If the published content violates the rights of a specific group of people, a complaint may be submitted by an organization dedicated to human rights protection.
  • Any member of the Complaints Commission.

WHAT CONTENT CAN YOU COMPLAIN ABOUT?

  • Texts and photographs published in daily and periodical press, on their websites, as well as on news portals and news agencies.
  • Letters or comments from readers.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • Complaints are submitted due to violations of the Journalists’ Code of Ethics. We advise you to review the Code before filing a complaint. If you need assistance, feel free to contact us.
  • We only accept complaints from those directly affected by a published article or photograph, or complaints submitted with their written consent.
  • We do not accept complaints about printed media content published more than three months ago. Complaints regarding online media content may be submitted as long as the content is publicly available.
  • Complaints must be signed, submitted in writing, or sent via email.
  • You may propose that the media outlet in question publish your response, correction, apology, or reach a resolution in another way. We will attempt to mediate a solution.

  • Objections to advertisements and other marketing content.
  • Complaints about content you find “distasteful” or inappropriate.
  • Complaints about book content.
