Vacancy for a member of the Complaints Committee of the Press Council

Pursuant to Articles 12 and 22 of the Statute, the Managing Board of the PRESS COUNCIL announces a
PUBLIC COMPETITION
for the election of a representative of the public in the Complaints Commission
1) 1 (one) representative of civil society – the public in the Complaints Commission of the Press Council shall be elected;
2) Candidates for representatives of civil society in the Complaints Commission of the Press Council may be nominated by:
– citizens’ associations, non-governmental, professional and educational organizations whose goals, prescribed by the statute, are achieved in the field of media, freedom of speech and expression of opinion, protection of human, minority, children’s rights and gender equality; protection of legality and the rule of law, promotion of transparency of the work of public authority holders and public office holders, fight against corruption and monopolies;
– founders of the Press Council.
3) Candidates must meet the following requirements:
– that they are citizens of the Republic of Serbia.
– to possess the highest professional and moral qualities.
– that they are persons of high integrity and authority in the field they deal with.
4) The representative of civil society – the public in the Commission is elected by consensus by the members of the Management Board of the Press Council, who are obliged to consider all received proposals.
5) The representative shall be elected for a period until 1 September 2027, with the possibility of re-election for another four years.
6) The public competition for the nomination of candidates will last from August 5 to September 5, 2026.
