Press Council at the AIPCE Annual Meeting in London
Representatives of the Press Council recently participated in the annual meeting of the Association of Independent Press Councils of Europe (AIPCE) held in London, whose key topics were the improvement of journalistic standards and public trust in the media.
The meeting was held under the title “Building Trust and Public Awareness”, and the discussions emphasized the importance of maintaining the credibility of the media in the era of rapid distribution of information and misinformation. Representatives of self-regulatory bodies from all over Europe discussed strategies for strengthening transparency and accountability in the media sphere and effective mechanisms for resolving various complaints about the work of the media while preserving journalistic integrity. Special attention is paid to the complexity of the application of ethical standards and the challenges of moderation in the online sphere and on social networks.
The Alliance of Independent Press Councils of Europe (AIPCE) is a collaborative network that brings together different national and regional press councils across Europe and serves as a platform for independent self-regulatory bodies to exchange best practices, discuss common challenges and promote ethical standards in journalism. AIPCE encourages cooperation among its members to support media freedoms, improve public confidence in the media and provide effective mechanisms to resolve complaints about journalistic practices.
