In 2021, the Press Council conducted a survey on whether the media in Serbia have internal ethical codes of journalism, how important they are to them and whether they are ready to adopt and apply them. Based on the results of the research, seven media outlets, with the help of the Press Council, this year drafted internal ethical rules.
New internal codes now have: Beta news agency, Loznične novosti, Sremske novine, portals Magločistač, Storyteller, Media and reform center Niš, as well as TV Info puls Vranje.
Representatives of two local media and experts will talk about their experiences in drafting codes and the importance of responding to certain ethical dilemmas, in order to encourage colleagues to, in accordance with their needs, develop a set of principles or documents on editorial policy and good journalistic practice, in accordance with the Code of Journalists of Serbia.
The development of internal codes of good journalistic practice is one of the activities of the Action Plan for the implementation of the media strategy for the period 2020-2025, and was implemented with the financial support of the OSCE Mission to Serbia.
