Bojan Cvejić Awarded UNS Prize for Contribution to the History of Journalism
(Source: Javni servis) The Journalists’ Association of Serbia (UNS) today presented its annual journalism awards. Among them was the “Žika M. Jovanović” award for contributions to the history of journalism and nonfiction works, which was awarded to journalist, member of the ANEM team, and doctoral candidate at the Faculty of Political Sciences, Bojan Cvejić, for his publication “Journalists’ Codes of Serbia from 1965 to 2025.”
Cvejić stated that he is particularly pleased that the jury recognized the significance of this publication in the year marking six decades since the adoption of the first journalists’ code in this region. He added this recognition comes at a time when respect for ethical and professional standards in Serbian journalism is at its lowest possible level.
“In a time when ethics in Serbian journalism are marginalized, Bojan Cvejić’s systematic effort and perseverance in collecting and publishing the history of journalists’ codes from over six decades ago to the present day are very important. This is a unique publication, significant for the entire media community, as well as for researchers, theorists, and future journalists. As such, it makes a broad societal contribution to the history of journalism and media ethics, and we hope, to their future as well,” the jury explained.
