Gojković: Advantage in competitions for media outlets that respect legal regulations and the Journalist’s Code of Ethics
Source: (Novi magazin) The commissions for the evaluation of projects for media content production are independent in their work, but there is an obligation to respect the adopted Media Strategy and the accompanying Action Plan, the Minister of Culture and Information Maja Gojković stated today.
In a written statement, Gojković stated that this means that “media outlets that respect legal regulations and the Journalist’s Code of Ethics of Serbia have an advantage in project co-financing of media content production under equal conditions”, as well as do media “that have fewer measures imposed by REM and decisions made and public warnings by the Press Council. “
“Therefore, I ask everyone in the commissions, both at the republic level, including the commissions formed by the Ministry I lead, and the commissions that decide on the financing of media content at the provincial and local level, to respect the recommendations and positions from the Media Strategy,” said Gojkovic.
She added that as the Minister of Culture, she did not interfere at any time in the decisions of the commissions “on all ten competitions conducted in the field of information”, but appealed to all commissions to pay special attention to respecting the ethical standard and professional conduct of journalists and media. “
